The programme was launched with the aim of promoting community participation, individuals, communities, and corporates in water conservation. States were divided into five zones, with each expected to complete at least 10,000 artificial recharge and storage structures. కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ప్రకటించిన జాతీయ స్థాయి అవార్డుల్లో తెలంగాణ అగ్రస్థానంలో నిలిచింది. అవార్డులను క్లీన్ స్వీప్ చేసింది.
